Test Results

When your test results arrive at the surgery they are reviewed by a healthcare professional.  If you have a registered mobile number you will receive a text message to let you know what you need to do next.  If you do not have a registered mobile number and your test is abnormal you will receive a phone call or a letter to advise you of your results or any next steps.

Generally speaking:

  • most blood test results are available after 7 days
  • most x-rays are available after 10 days
  • cervical smear results are posted directly to the patient within 28 days

If you do not hear from us within the timescales above please telephone the surgery between the hours of 10:00 – 14:00.

You may need to attend a follow up appointment or have further tests.

Please note our receptionists are able to let you know if your test result has been received by the surgery.  The reception team are unable to answer any further questions relating to your test results.
